Why choose Blanki?
FAQs
Will my dog actually use it, or will they still push for my sofa?
Dogs go where it’s warm and smells familiar. The trick is consistency: put Blanki where your dog usually lies next to you. Invite them onto it. Reward calm. After 1–2 days most dogs will default to “their spot” instead of climbing on top of you every single time. It’s not magic. It’s routine and scent anchoring.
Does it hold smell over time?
Standard dog beds are usually synthetic fill + polyester cover. That traps humidity, body oils and saliva. That’s what creates the “dog smell”. Merino works differently: it manages moisture and naturally resists odour build-up. You air it and it resets.
Can I wash it?
Yes. Light dirt: shake / air / damp cloth. Deeper clean: wool cycle, cold, wool detergent, air dry flat. No tumble dryer. Treat it like a good knit, not like a car boot mat.
Is it too thin for older dogs / big dogs?
It’s intentionally not a big puffy donut. It’s supportive, flat, and warm. Older dogs usually like it because it’s easy to step on and off, no “climbing into a nest”. If your dog has joint issues and needs orthopedic lift, this should sit on top of a softer base. For most dogs it’s perfect as-is.
Can I use it in the car?
Yes. That’s actually one of the best uses. Dogs settle faster when they lie on something that already smells like “home”, and your seats stay cleaner.
Is it safe for puppies?
Yes. And it’s good for crate / boundary training, because the mat becomes a “calm zone” very early. You’re not teaching “lie wherever”, you are teaching “this is your place”.
